Агенција за јавне набавке врши следеће послове:
- спроводи јавне набавке за потребе Градске управе, јавних предузећа и установа чији је оснивач Град, као и за потребе градских општина;
- даје мишљења на елементе одлуке о покретању поступка, конкурсну документацију, одлуку о одбијању понуда, одлуку о додели уговора о јавној набавци, као и на остале одлуке које се доносе у поступку јавне набавке, када поступке јавних набавки спроводе организационе јединице Градске управе;
- врши стручне послове у области јавних набавки који се односе на: припрему интерних нормативних аката из области јавних набавки, праћење поступака јавних набавки за потребе Градске управе и врши поједине послове у вези са праћењем поступака јавних набавки које спроводе јавна предузећа, установе и друге организације чији је оснивач Град, као и градске општине, у складу са одлукама Скупштине града или градоначелника;
- остварује сарадњу са органима и организацијама који у оквиру своје надлежности примењују прописе из области јавних набавки.
Агенција за јавне набавке врши и друге послове у складу са законом, Статутом града и другим прописима.
